Description
An original 1st issue for the UK market on the RCA label. Matrix 2/2 - first cut. Etching 'Sterling'. You will note that the labels aren't orange like the typical UK pressed copies. Two months prior to the release of Heroes, and just as RCA were stockpiling the initial copies for 1st release, Elvis passed away. RCA, then, were forced to divert a lot of production capacity to fulfil the demand for Elvis. Due to production constraints RCA took the decision to contract their Italian plant to produce many of the copies of Heroes at 1st issue. So, there you have it.. a true 1st issue, but pressed by the Italian RCA plant - rather than UK. The vinyl comes housed in an original heavy-card cover printed in England. Also included is the original lyric insert sheet and generic white inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) In lovely condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection we could only make out a couple of tiny marks. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT+ level of playback with one slight deviation. Intros and inbetweens are pretty much silent and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. Just very nice clean unhindered audio. Interference is very light and in frequent. All we could detect were a few crackles in a couple of isolated spots. Then, the one deviation is a couple of light ticks in the opening section of 'Moss Garden'. A beautiful player by any standard.
Cover (Ex/Ex+) In beautiful condition and all the more impressive by virtue of the fact it is the original heavy-card design. Lovely shiny front and rear with only one tiny thumbnail crease that I can just make out. Edge wear is pretty much non-existent. The spine is 100% intact. Overall the cover retains perfect rigidity. A lovely specimen.
