David Bowie Hunky Dory LP UK 1971
No Mainman reference anywhere on this copy signifying that it is a 1971 first run release
Very very early 1971 release of Hunky Dory with the early heavy deep grooved vinyl.
This version with the 3E/4E in the runout groove is considered by many Bowie freaks to be the best "cut" of the album along with the 3T etched versions.
I've had them all and it's clear to me that the original 1971 releases sound far superior and they are built to last, big heavy slab of vinyl that lasts so well, this copy is one of them, I have included the Discogs entry for your information.
This Hunky Dory is all about the vinyl. It's in superb condition and as I said earlier sounds different class, I test play all my vinyl on my Project Essential deck, there are a few bits of static and surface noise but absolutely no annoying jumps or sticks.. Tremendous sound.
Vinyl is nice and glossy with near perfect labels
There are a few light feathers from sleeve removal down the years but there's no adverse effect on the sound.
It's a great playback, I know a good one when I hear it..
but overall it's a Beauty so quiet between tracks as well
If I don't think a record is good enough, it doesn't get listed it's as simple as that..this particular copy of Hunky Dory was a straightforward decision, it's a cracker!!!
The original inner lyric sheet is in great condition. Very clean with a cpl of marks and some writing (see pics)
The album cover is also in very good condition
Hunky Dory covers are difficult to find in mint condition, this copy is in above average condition and does have a bit of wear if I'm honest. I've seen better but one thing is for sure I've seen far far more in worse condition
But as I always say on my listing! Study the pics to decide for yourself as well
I've priced it VERY competitively. Look at the others available for far far more.. Are they better than mine?..
What you get is one of "thee" best audio versions of this iconic Bowie album
A mint copy of Hunky Dory with 3T in the matrix is 3 times the price of mine and it's basically the same audio master and as I said earlier considered by many to be just as good if not better.
Sorry for the long winded description but I feel it's important to get as much detail as possible for anyone interested.
I wouldn't buy an album with a 3 line description. Maybe works for some folk. But not me.
Don't take a chance on an over described auction sale of Hunky Dory. Buy this one.. I know a good Hunky Dory when I see one
