This is a top sounding copy of Hunky Dory,
And it's a REAL bargain
Recognised by many as the best sounding copy of Hunky Dory
This is one of the most desirable versions of Hunky Dory after the mega expensive and rare Laminated Cover copy
Matrix 2E/3T. Etchings "Rasputin" - this is indicative of very earliest pressing. Yes, it has the early Titanic publishing credit - but it's those etchings that identify the very earliest copies. The earliest copies have lovely shiny labels and are pressed really heavy [so, more than one reason to go for them].
I've had literally dozens of copies of Hunky Dory down through the years and I know what a good one looks and sounds like AND I am always fair with the prices I ask, even more so when I see some of the prices people excpect to get for poor condition copies of Hunky Dory..
If it's not up to scratch it doesn't get listed.
Early heavy deep grooved vinyl only available on the very first pressing
2 major benefits, they sound the best and also they last the longest!!
They don't make them like that anymore
I test play all my vinyl on my Project Essential deck and it plays and sounds fantastic, NO sticks or jumps as that is the main thing I listen for
There is the odd click and a bit of surface noise in the quiter parts
But the SOUND from the vinyl is in a different class, much is made about the first 3T pressings about the difference in sound quality and even cynical old me agrees with that view.. Different class audio playback !!!
The Vinyl is lovely and clean with a great gloss, under strong light it has a few light feathers and non feel able marks that do not cause any sticks or definitely no jumps, MOST IMPORTANTLY it sounds totally superb.
It's The Rasputin pressing, one of the rarest copies and considered by many to be the best sounding AND usually in fact always, the most expensive...
Amazing condition for over 50 years old! Yes it has some light marks but nothing that affects the playback
The album cover is also in very good condition
Hunky Dory covers do not age well, they are 50 years old after all but this cover is strong rigid and sturdy with perfect seams, just a little flat with some wear near the top but has LOADS of life left in it, small tare about half an inch on front
This cover is MILES better than the majority of others for sale
The Spine is very good apart from about an inch in the middle easily legible as well
The rear of the cover is also in great condition and is very clean, most importantly it's still nice and white and hasn't got discoloured and dirty like most others.
The Inner rare lyric insert is present and is also in very decent condition except for a small 1 inch long tare....but...

Great copy of Hunky Dory from it's first year of release 1971, very hard to find especially in such good condition
This copy has been really well cared for.
Sorry for the long winded description but I feel it's important to get as much detail as possible for anyone interested.
I wouldn't buy an album with a 3 line description. Maybe works for some folk. But not me.
