Description
David Bowie 'Man Who Sold The World' - Early US Stereo Pressing SR 61325
-
Originally released in the US in November 1970, this album was purchased personally in the States less than four years later in October 1974, as indicated by the date handwritten on the inner bag at the time.
- The vinyl itself is in very good condition, and although there is a mark running from towards the end of the first track on side one to the beginning of the second track, a test play at the time of this listing resulted only in some minor crackles being audible.
- Although a little grubby around the edges, the sleeve is not torn and is in good condition. It does have a small remainder/cut-out hole punched in the top left hand corner, but the spine is undamaged.
- The catalogue number for this stereo pressing is SR 61325. The matrix numbers on the run-offs are SR 61325-A-M2 and SR 61235-B-M1.
- Note that as the matrix numbers are etched and not stamped (see picture) the Discogs web site suggests this particular record is unlikely to be a first pressing.
- Even so, as this album was bought in 1974 it must still be a pretty early example.
- Released in the US by Mercury Records of Illinois, this record would make a fine addition to any Bowie completists vinyl collection!
- Postage costs for non-UK buyers available on request.
