Description

Inherited from a relative, along with other stuff I am currently selling.  This is the very first UK release of this David Bowie album from 1971.  It has:-
1) Shiny labels  2) All parts UK made 3) 1T/1T matrixes (apparently this is rare because the oil crisis happened at the time of this albums release - so RCA had to import contract vinyl from other countries, and UK pressing was stopped after the 1T/1T matrix's for many months and it only started again much later on). 4) 'Sample Record' Sticker on one label - which suggests that this record was a Promotional Copy of some sort.   5) Really early A1(A) & A1(V) stampers 6) Correct plain die cut flipback inner with no text (the RCA text and date weren't introduced on inners until 1974 - so only re-issues have these) 7) This album is also in terrific condition - see grading below.....
Grading:-   Cover is really incredible!  I could not believe it myself.  No rubbing and no ringwear anywhere.  Spine words all readable.  No edge wear to top and almost none to bottom.  Very minor corner bump to top left corner - other than that no creases at all.  Incredible after 48 years.  I'll grade it Excellent due to the corner bump - but really I would think it would be very hard to better this outstanding cover!  The insert is NM - looks like it has sat inside the cover untouched.  Plain inner which is original to this album and correct (after research!) is also super nice and unsplit.  Record is a true museum piece.  Plays lovely and even under the brightest light I could find I could see fractional brushing from the inner sleeve only.  Perhaps one spindle trace?  Cant see any lines or marks at all.  I will grade the record Near Mint.  Must be one of the best conditioned first releases of this album left now....

  That's it.  Good luck.
