Description
This is ‘Can’t Help Thinking About Me’ by David Bowie With The Lower Third, a very rare example of Bowie’s early work at the tender age of 18! This is also his first release after the change of name from David (sometimes Davie) Jones to the now iconic ‘Bowie’.
This 45 is an example of a very different sound (somewhat ‘Beatles-esque’ but not untypical of the era) but with the same iconic voice.
I’d highly recommend taking a quick peek at the Wikipedia entry for this track as it’s just a highly interested read and goes to show why this is such a collectors item.
This example in particular is a great example in VG+/EX condition, with some minor marks and scratches not affecting playback. I noticed a couple of minor pops and some background noise when really wound up loud but otherwise very satisfying to listen to.
We recently acquired this from a large jukebox-based collection from which we’ll be adding more in the near future; keep your eyes peeled single collectors!
