Description
An original 1st issue of Ziggy from summer 1972 on the UK RCA label. Matrix 2E/2E. Please note publishing credits are for Titanic and not Mainmain which would have been used just a few months later. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original Robert Stace sleeve and, again, no Mainman logo on the rear. Also included is the original lyric inner sleeve with half-moon opening - indicative of 1st issue. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) In superb shape and has only seen light use. Under close inspection there are a few marks, but nothing heavy or that affects audio performance. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback with one slight deviation. Intros and inbetweens are nice and quiet and the audio comes across with great clarity. Interference is minimal. All we detected was a touch of light static in the odd place. The only deviation is the very first few seconds of 'five years' where there are a couple of crackles - this quickly disappears. These early RCA copies are really nice and the audio on offer, here, is going to kick pretty much everything else into touch.
Cover (Ex) In very nice condition and has clearly been looked after down the years. There are a couple of light creases and one slight abrasion on the rear, but by and large it has survived the years better than many examples. Edge wear is light and the spine is 100% intact. Overall the cover still retains great rigidity and is a very impressive early example.
Inner (Vg+) No splits, but exhibits a bit of ageing.
