Description
The sale of this record has been changed to a buy it now. This is due to it having sold at auction twice, with the winning bidders failing to pay, or even to contact me on both occasions.
Why this has been allowed to happen twice
is a mystery to me.
This is the 1956, original British pressing of one of the most sought after classical records.
I have graded the vinyl at near mint as there are no visible marks on the vinyl and virtually zero surface noise on playing.
The sound is beautifully clear and powerful and the record has probably only been played a few times in it's life, judging by it's condition.
The album was professionally cleaned a few years ago by Russ Andrews in Kendal, to make sure it was at it's absolute best and has only been played once since then, in order to check it's sound quality.
It has been stored since cleaning in a MoFi, archive inner, but also has the original, inner with it, which has been labelled with a fountain pen, in very small, neat lettering in one corner.
The sleeve is in exceptional condition, with only some small marks on the spine, a little 'flaring' of the opening and a slight impression of the vinyl on the front cover.
The laminate on the front is flawless and the colours are beautifully bright and strong.
The rear is in near mint condition, no marks or discolouration whatsoever, with crisp, clean flip backs and corners.
This is probably one of the best examples of this LP available for sale anywhere in the world, a true, archive quality copy.
The only comparable copy of this record on discogs, is currently listed at over £1300.
