Description
Death in June - The Wall of Sacrifice. This is the rare true first pressing on NER with the white sleeve. At the time of its release, Douglas P. thought this would be the last Death in June album ever to be recorded, and it was limited to only 666 copies. It includes the original thick black inner sleeve and a black picture insert with a photograph of Douglas P. posed with a raven, a dagger and roses. The record was later rereleased with yellow and red covers, neither of which can match the simplicity and beauty of the original white cover.
Also included with this record is a ticket to the Death in June performance of Friday 6th November 1998 at the Underworld in London, and the handwritten setlist Douglas P. used for that show. This setlist is memorable because this was the unique show where against all expectation Tony Wakeford and Patrick O'Kill of the original Death in June lineup joined Douglas P. onstage for a three song encore, On the back of the setlist is written down the songs that they played together that night - Fields of Rape, Death of the West, and Heaven Street. This was the best Death in June performance I've seen. The setlist was obtained by myself at the show.
The vinyl is vg+, showing only some light traces of sleevewear. The picture insert is vg+ with a single 1/2" crease to the upper right hand corner. The sleeve is in striking near mint condition with no signs of wear. A beautiful copy of Death in June's most beautiful and rarest album, with a unique and important piece of ephemera.
