Description
Magnificent performance and excellent condition on this early wide band, deep groove Decca (UK) SXL LP with the rare blue border back cover of Bizet's "Carmen and L'Arlesienne Suites" (Decca SXL 2037). Ernest Ansermet conducting L'Orchestre De La Suisse Romande.
Wide band, deep groove ffss with "Original Recording by" at 10 O'clock. Stamped in the trail-off is ZAL-4095-3E/ZAL-4096-2E.
The glossy LP plays with spectacular, crisp audiophile quality sound. There are a few light sleeve scuffs and a couple of light superficial scratches that play with just some light occasional surface noise. I was very pleasantly surprised that one small scratch I thought would be a problem played through with no notice. The glossy, very rare blue-bordered flip-up cover is near mint with no splits, writing or stains. The back cover (dated 1958) has the original price tag and small tear in the lower flip-up portion. Included is the near mint original Decca inner sleeve.
