BRAHMS - Piano Concerto
KATCHEN/MONTEUX
You are bidding on a genuine first edition Wide Band grooved stereo copy of this stereophonic rarity - Brahms Violin Concerto No. 1 in D Minor, Op. 15. Performance by Julius Katchen and the London Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Pierre Monteux.
Country: UK Year: 1959 Label: Decca (SXL 2172) Original inner sleeve.
The sleeve: very clean on the front, laminated; minor age spotting, discolouration at edge of laminate, marking and small red sticker on reverse. Grading: EX-
The Vinyl: Side 1 has a small number of tiny hairline marks which don't affect play. Grading: EX+. Side 2 has a few more hairline marks but still plays wonderfully. Grading: EX.
The above record grading is based on Record Collector magazine system:
MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint. EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing. VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.Your record will be packaged inside the original inner sleeve, next to the cover, all in a protective plastic outer sleeve. It will be posted to you inside a professional record mailer with three cardboard stiffeners.
