Description

This is another sale from a my collection of classical records, which includes early stereo rarities on Decca, Columbia, HMV and RCA.

1960 UK stereo pressing on Decca records of SXL 2223 Schumann Symphonies 1 & 4  played by London Symphony Orchestra conducted by Josef Krips. Label is grooved wide band. The label has “Original Recording by” at 10 O’clock. Sleeve is a scalloped flip back sleeve. The matrix numbers engraved on the run-out are ZAL-3631-1M and ZAL-3632-1M.  The date code on the back cover in the bottom left hand corner is G.P.5.60

Grading

The condition of sleeve is Excellent, some marks and ring wear on the rear sleeve. Price (?) is written in pencil on rear sleeve left hand corner. Inner sleeve is excellent, albeit creased. Visually grade the record as Excellent

Side 1 - some faint marks and light scratches that show up under strong light

Side 2 - some faint marks that show up under strong light

It plays on my Linn Sondek virtually perfectly, no skips, jumps - hardly any crackle.

Note that record will be posted in a cardboard record mailer. Sleeve will be in a plastic sleeve, separate from the record and inner sleeve. Record and inner sleeve will be in a card sleeve.
