RECORDS.I have played all 3 lp's from start to finish,they play through perfectly without fault,to be honest this is about as good as listening to classical vinyl as it gets,all 6 sides play wonderfully with absolutely no faults at all,apart from a light click as side 5 finishes,the sound quality is amazing,decca at its absolute best,i do really hate to use the word near mint to describe any classical vinyl,because most whether it looks it or not,just doesn't play it,so if ever i was going to use the term its now.NEAR MINT.
all labels are clean and complete as are the company inners.

I have just purchased a well looked after classical collection and i will be auctioning it all over the coming weeks,normally i would clean the lp's on my moth record cleaner,but i have come to the conclusion that alcohol and distilled water does little to improve the quality of classical vinyl's playing condition,this is more so to the old ALP,LXT etc harder vinyl pressings
So i'm just wiping them over and play grading them all from start to finish,i'll leave the cleaning,if you think they need it to yourselves.
As i've already said this collection has been well looked after and the vinyl's show little in the way of markings to the surface,some will have none,anything i do find,that doesn't meet this standard will be removed.
so its about how they play,i'll be useing 5 grades nm to vg this system should give you a far better insight as to how they play,hopefully you can find a level which you personally are happy with,the ex grade is still a great playing record but if your fussy about clicks from the surface it won't be for you,vg+ and vg,these are just for collectable vinyls are each listing will explain in detail its playing condition.
NEAR MINT.For me to grade any classical record this grade it would have to be the cream of the crop,quite,fault free and in top playing condition,most won't reach this grade.
EXCELLENT (+) the record plays perfectly without any faults,there will be no lessening in sound quality.
EXCELLENT.the record will play through perfectly with only minor faults,may have a few light ticks,clicks or just a little noticeable surface noise or light crackle,there will be no lessening in sound quality.
VG+ AND VG.These grades are only for collectable vinyls,some people may want them because of that,each record will have its own in depth grading.
Every listing will say what if any fault a record may have,cover grades will be as normal.
as i final note on this grading system,i hope this will help you choose whether or not to purchase any record,although i have done my best to provide accurate and honest descriptions of all the records i accept that different equipment may give different results to my own,it is purely a guide for you,classical records are often less than perfect thats just the way they are,they play with ticks and clicks,pops and bangs,noise and scrapes,most of these records will improve with a good clean,but they may not. if you are unused to the way classical vinyl plays and are seeking perfection then don't buy,go for cd's,all records offered are returnable if you not happy with them.
