Description

Deena Johnson – ‘You Turned Your Back On Me’ / ‘Mama’s Boy’ – Swa Ray 6154/6155(US)

No introduction necessary, these are two top tunes back-to-back by Joshie “Jo” Armstead under the alias of Deena Johnson. Arranged and conducted by Jesse Herring Jr., whose work for the Tru-Glo-Town label alone ought to have made him a star. ‘Mama’s Boy’ later got a release on Wild Deuce; the gorgeous and rarely played ‘You Turned Your Back On Me’, to the best of my knowledge, is unavailable elsewhere.

Condition: VG+ or thereabouts (please listen to the clips). Clean but slightly rough-looking labels (though this is most likely how they came), with a little flaking round the centre hole, particularly on the ‘Mama’s Boy’ side. Writing in marker pen on the A-side (please see scans).

Please send payment via Paypal; payment is expected within three days. Will not be held responsible for uninsured parcels.

Shipping 1-2 singles: $8.00 to all European destinations; $10.00 to the rest of the world. Shipping 3-5 singles: $11.50 to Europe; $13.00 to the rest of the world. Registered and insured shipping (with a tracking number) is an additional $11.00 per parcel to cover a total value not exceeding $80.00. The additional charge for registered and insured shipping covering a total value of up to circa $1,500.00, which is the maximum, is USD $16.00. Please get in touch for further combined shipping rates.

American bidders, kindly note that shipping to the US is not US $4.00; this is eBay’s default setting and not applicable as I am based in Sweden. Please wait for my invoice. Thank you!

Happy to answer any questions. Please see my other auctions with many rare soul items this week.

Thanks for looking and good luck!
