Offered for sale:
DEEP PURPLE - IN ROCK A2/B1 1970 PRESSING - NO EMI - SUPERB COVER & AUDIO! (SHVL777)
Superb Condition for its 52 years of age - Sleeve, vinyl and Harvest paper sleeve look in great shape. A fine addition to the collection! (EX/EX). The sleeve is mint apart from slight delimitation on the spine (see photos).
Checking with Discogs. This is the early UK repress, presumably from July / August 1970
Other main identifiers are similar to the 1st press:
- Laminated gatefold sleeve with 'Printed and Made by Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd.' (until about 1981)
- Inner sleeve: the 'Harvest' advertising inner sleeve in most cases.
- Runouts: A2 / B1 (until about mid-1975);
- The upper rim text begins with 'THE GRAMOPHONE CO LTD.' (until about May 1974);
- No 'EMI' logo on labels (until about June 1971); The inscription 'MADE IN GT. BRITAIN' on labels is separated of the lower rim text and centered above the circular bottom line (until about May 1974);
- Song listing in 3-lines for side A and in 4 lines for side B (until about the second half of 1972)
I use Record Collector's Grading System
M = MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint. ------------------------------------------------------------ Ex = EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing. ------------------------------------------------------------ VG = VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
