1969 Rare First Pressing - Sinister Morning by Denver Gerrard with a handwritten disc label (ID no. ARL 9167 P - sides marked as 2A&2B) Deram Nova Series on Decca Records. Disc is almost mint - unplayed in nearly 50 years! Musicians backing Denny are those who formed the legendary HIGH TIDE in 1969. There are 5 versions of this album but this is a UK first pressing - Hand written (signed?) Centre Label. Interesting - this looks like the first off the press.Sleeve is not perfect but good and the vinyl is virtually mint - I’ve owned it since 1972 and played it only once! Genre:Folk-Rock I guess, Psychedelic Pop it could be at that time 1969/70. Songs written by Denver Gerrard but the musicians are excellent including Tony Hill and Simon House. In 1965, Jimmy Page picked Denny to become one half of the duo the Fifth Avenue, while Rolling Stones' manager Andrew Loog Oldham also worked with him. Denny ensured the High Tide progressive rock sound became a reality by producing their signature first album Sea Shanties - which definitely wasn't Folk music!!. AC 2019
