World Violator Tour: 1990
The World Violation Tour was a 1990 concert tour by English electronic group Depeche Mode in support of the act's seventh studio album, Violator, which was released in March 1990. It was estimated that by the end of the tour, Depeche Mode had toured to 1.2 million fans. The band rehearsed for the tour in Pensacola, Florida, the same city where the tour kicked off. The tour kicked off with a North American leg in late May, finishing in early August in Los Angeles at Dodger Stadium. The North American dates were met with high demand with sellouts in Dallas, Chicago, Orlando, Tampa and Miami, New Jersey had been sold within four hours of going on sale, while the Dodger Stadium shows had sold out on the first day of sale. Later in the month, the group played a sole date in Australia, in Sydney, prior to a six-date tour of Japan in September. Following the Japanese dates, the band commenced a European tour, beginning in Brussels in late September. The leg included three dates at the Palais Omnisport’s Bercy in Paris. The leg lasted two months and concluded with the final show of the tour in Birmingham, UK, in late November.

This is a large-scale poster clearly used to advertise the tour in 1990, and has evidence of being displayed, taken down and fully signed by the band including the following personnel:

This poster has been signed with large, bold signatures in medium felt-style black pen by all four members and look simply stunning!

Provenance: this was secured via the vendor direct via an Omega Auction held in 2023. A redacted copy of the invoice will be provided as proof of provenance.

Condition: I have taken multiple pictures of this poster and this condition should be studied in detail. This is a displayed used poster that has been removed from display and autographed by the band. I am grading the poster as excellent minus (-) condition, and this is minor to moderate creasing and if this poster is to be framed professionally, is likely to need professionally ‘mounting’ on board to remove the bulk of the creasing. The signatures are simply stunning and strong, unfaded, and a minimum 9/10 grading by me. They also well positioned in light background areas of the poster so extremely easy to spot! Please view all pictures prior to bidding – this poster has a view minor ‘war wounds’ from use but these NEVER come up for sale, from what must be classed as the classic line up for the career peak of the 1990 album ‘Violator’. NB. The poster has been heavily rolled on thick paper – I apologise for the bottles of water et all holding the corners down in the images!
