Description
Blue Cat BS 114: Dermott Lynch "I Love You The Way You Are" b w/ "I Can't Stand It" from 1968. This is a very special rocksteady release. It's a monster of a single and unbelievably rare and collectible. Some copies were released with incorrect track information on the labels, but this one is accurate. Dermott Lynch singles on this label regularly sell for over $400, and the last copy of this sold at auction fetched over $500 a few months ago. Snatch this up as a collector's piece, then make sure to buy the "Jamaican Memories" comp cd with both of these tracks and 20ish other rocksteady scorchers from Blue Cat so you can sit and enjoy the music without having to spin the actual single. The price has been dropped appropriately after a re-evaluation.
Vinyl is VERY GOOD-, with a lot of gloss left on it and a decent amount of marks. There is some very, very slight background noise on both sides, nothing unusual for a single from this era. The sound is crisp and clear. Unfortunately there are 2 slight jumps on the a-side, but no skips. The b-side plays all the way through perfectly.
Labels are VERY GOOD- on the a-side, with a small bit of writing and a large scratch/tear. It's incredibly sad because there is virtually no wear and tear other than that...literally EXCELLENT quality. The b-side label is EXCELLENT, with only some minor wear on the center piece and very slight fading of the print in one or two spots.
