In my 50+ years of experience of collecting Mothers/Zappa records, Iwould say that this is the least common version, with only four copies havingbeen sold on ebay in the past 10 years.

 

Sold to me as VG, but that might be stretching the grading, so let me bemore accurate/honest: plenty of hairline surface marks visible, which suggestthat a brush has been used to clean it; wear in the dead wax indicates that itmay have been played along with a stack of other 45s.  There are no deep scratches or seriousdamage, AAND VINYL IS STILL SHINY.  I no longer have a turntable so  could not do an audio check, but it looks OK for a 50-year-old vinyl record.

 

Labels clean and clear, no writing or sticker marks.

 

Deseri is in Stereo, and has the normal album version of ‘Deseri’.

Jelly Roll Gum Drop has a unique Mono mix, which at 2:24 is about 4seconds longer than the album version (the 2:17 timing on the label isincorrect) and has much louder guitar and background vocals.  This version can also be found on the ‘Greasy LoveSongs’ CD, Official Release #87.

A true mono mix, with prominent timpani (as on theCruising With Ruben & The Jets digital remix) — The bass guitar is almostentirely absent from the mono mix; as a consequence, the acoustic guitar ismuch brighter than in the stereo mix — The ending "Jelly roll, jellyroll" chant is absent from the mono mix. Author’s Note: The mono Ruben LP is a Type B fold-down of the stereo mix— which means that Jelly Roll Gum Drop is the only Ruben track available intrue mono.
