DEXTER GORDON - The Dexter Gordon Quintet
Huge 1950 jazz rarity with minor blemishes
Year/Label : 1950 US DIAL Label number : 204 Matrix numbers : DLP - 204 - A, DLP -204 B Stampers : 3R, 3RFlat, thick and very good (VG) condition vinyl with a good number of hairlines/light surface scratches which though not feelable do result in light crackle and the occasional mild click. Each label is in very good plus condition with some slight ageing and a few very, very light handling marks but all text and colouring remaining impressively intact. Very good (VG) condition and presentable original thick cardboard outer sleeve with no creasing but there is noticeable edge scuffing, some corner rubbing, and obvious storage/handling marks on both the front and reverse sides - the photos provide a fair representation. Very good (VG) audio quality with no skips, jumps, repeats, sticks or distortion though there is mild background crackle throughout and the occasional mild background click. So not perfect by any means but still most definitely playable and listenable. Remember, this is a a 74 year old record! A serious addition to any serious jazz vinyl collection!

Note that I always insert the vinyl into a new plain white poly-lined inner sleeve in order to protect the original during postage, and separate this from the outer sleeve to prevent seam splits. I use thick cardboard stiffeners and take great care in my packaging to ensure as far as possible that these precious records reach their destination in exactly the same condition as when they leave me.
