Dexys Midnight Runners / Culture Club BBC Rock Hour Transcription Disc
In the USA, BBC In Concert transcription discs were marketed as the BBC Rock Hour with their own custom label. This transcription disc, #411, is split between Dexys Midnight Runners recorded in Newcastle (Side 1), and Culture Club recorded at the Lyceum (Side 2). The broadcast date for American stations was the week commencing 13 March 1983. The concert is introduced by Richard Skinner in London and Sylvie Simmons in America. Unlike a regular BBC transcription disc, the BBC Rock Hour series included American radio adverts, in this case for Coors Beer, Jensen Audio, Certs (breath freshener), and Army recruitment. On sides 1 and 2, adverts are placed after track 3, and at the end of side 1. This record was also pressed for American radio as BBC College Concert with the same yellow bulldog label, for broadcast in the week commencing 17 April 1983. Unfortunately, there is no cue sheet accompanying this record, but a copy of the BBC College Concert cue sheet is included. The tracks are:

The record is in excellent condition, and was obtained directly from the founder of radio station KVMX-FM, Eastland, Texas, in 1988.
