Description

Dick Dale And His Del-Tones Surfers Choice LP - LPM 1001. 1st Pressing 1962 VG+ This album is a surf guitar landmark! Dick Dale's 1962 debut LP, Surfers' Choice, introduced the world to the thunderous sound of surf guitar, as pioneered by the man who invented the style. Largely recorded at Dale's legendary Rendezvous Ballroom in Balboa Beach, California and featuring such tunes as "Let's Go Trippin'," "Surf Beat," and "Miserlou Twist," this groundbreaking album forever changed the face of rock guitar. First pressing. Mono High Fidelity. The first pressing is determined by variations between the cover and the label. For example, On the cover the tile is Surfers' Choice (the apostrophe after the S) and on the label the title is Surfer's Choice (apostrophe between the R and S). Also, the song title for track 12 (or B side 6 on the label) is "Lets Go Trippin' on the back cover and Let's Go Trippin (with and apostrophe in Let's and no apostrophe at the end of Trippin) on the label. These are just a few, there are other variations.  This album and cover are in great condition. It would be rated Very Good Plus (VG+). It has the original wax paper inner sleeve. Please see photos. Cover has very slight ringwear, nearly imperceptible. It has been stored in a plastic sleeve. VG+ means that it has been played but shows only minor signs of wear that do not significantly impact the sound quality. It may have light scuffs or surface noise that is not overpowering, and the jacket may show minor handling wear like light ring wear or a slight crease. The vinyl itself is in great shape and will provide an excellent listening experience, with imperfections usually only visible under close inspection or during play as very light, inaudible pops or crackles.
