Description
Dick Dale. Calling Up Spirits. Beggar's Banquets Records(BBQLP 184). 1996. UK Import.
Calling Up Spirits is ostensibly surf guitar legend Dick Dale's attempt to translate Native-American musical traditions into instrumental rock. When you get down to it, however, it's just guitar pyrotechnics with a slight patina of tribal ritualism. His "The Wedge Paradiso" is great as he plays a Mariachi like trumpet. He also plays a Hendrix number "3rd Stone from The Sun". High energy sand/surf guitars.
Cover Rated 9 or NM- still in shrink wrap sealed... albeit the cover has some corner bends///Records 10 or Mint still sealed unplayed.
