Three Dire Straits LPs available for auction .First Is a 1st US pressing of Dire Straits 1978 1st album called Dire Straits .The second is Love over Gold from 1982 and finally Alchemy Live 1984 release. Let's get one thing straight, there is no such thing as a bad sounding Dire Straits LP period . I can only speak for the 70s 80s and early 90s ones that is, 21 century represses are 180 to 200 gram garbage but the 1st pressings and multiple pressings of DS lps sound fantastic That is just my opinion . Of course Dire Straits first Lp is the one with The Sultans Of Swing a song that put them and that great guitar master Mark Knopfler on the map. By the time they got to Love Over Gold, experimentation was a way of the band. Songs like the title track or Industrial Disease or the moody Private Investigations and the Iconic Telegraph Road. But the Live double LP Alchemy is where the band really hits it's stride.tracks like live versions of Once Upon A Time In The West, Romeo & Juliet , a just astonishing Private Investigations, a sonic masterpiece Solid Rock, and the 13 minute Telegraph Road from a purely sonic point of view the best sounding live LP ever. The vinyl on these LPs is NM/M- for Dire Straits Love Over Gold EX. and Alchemy Is NM/M- also. The sleeves are Alchemy EX+ Love Over Gold and Dire Straits EX.all 3 for one bid shipped in an LP mailer.
