Richard M. Sherman | Robert B. Sherman – The One And Only Genuine Original Family Band (Disney Film Soundtrack LP) (1968)
Good hard-to-find Japanese import.
This 1968 Disney movie musical ‘The One And Only Genuine Original Family Band’ (dir. Michael O'Herlihy), features original music by Richard M. Sherman & Robert B. Sherman, who composed the soundtrack and songs to 'Chitty Chitty Bang Bang' the same year.
The film, based on a biography by Laura Bower Van Nuys, starred Walter Brennan, Buddy Ebsen, Lesley Ann Warren and John Davidson.
This album comes as a thick card gatefold presentation with a superb 16-page bound-in booklet containing photos and lyrics in Japanese and English.
Condition VINYL: G. Looks unsoiled on visual inspection. Lots of marks, scuffs, hairlines and a few light scratches. Played just pre-listing and sound clarity is good overall – and very good in places. Crackling, static/surface noise at run-in to side 1. Side 2 is less crackly. Some cues sound better than others and vocals sound bright despite the obvious interference, which is more notable in quieter sequences. Plays with no skipping, jumping or sticking.
OUTER SLEEVE/COVER: VG. Colours are clear and unfaded. Thick matt gatefold sleeve card. Mild bowing and scuffs to corners, but edges, aperture and spine in great shape. Yellowing and foxing/stains round edges of front and back. Inner gate photos are clean and bound-in pages are complete, intact with staples. Some mild stains and marks on mustard yellow pages but no rips. Lyrics in English and Japanese. A decent example overall.
INNER SLEEVE: EX. Clear D-shaped poly sleeve. Light crinkling, folds and creases. Intact.
