Description

Dizzy Gillespie         Groovin' High  mono    Savoy 12020   Red label w/ deep groove  RVG X20

Dexter Gordon (ts), Charlie Parker, Sonny Stitt (as), Dizzy Gillespie (t), Al Haig, John Lewis (p), Ray Brown (b), Kenny Clarke (d) ETC  Recorded 1945, 1946

Red label with deep groove and RVG and X20 in runouts both sides.  "58 Market Street, Newark, N.J." address on back cover. Laminated cover without printing on spine.

 The record looks VG++/VG+ plays VG+.  Record plays with light surface noise that is well below the level of the music and is probably due to pressing quality. Side 1 looks clean.  Side 2 has 2 intersecting light scratches which form an "X" and cause some very light ticking for app 1 minute.  Grooves do not show any wear or damage.

 The cover is VG++.

    The front cover is very shiny and bright with light wear and hint of ring wear.  The back cover has light wear and looks very good. No split seams. Spine is intact. Small spots of denting and wear at the corners.

 IN SEPTEMBER, I WILL BACK AND BE RUNNING MONTHLY AUCTIONS OF 50s and 60s JAZZ LPS INC BLUE NOTE, PRESTIGE, NEW JAZZ  RIVERSIDE etc. MANY WEEKS AND MANY NICE ITEMS TO COME.
