DO IT NOW! ??Pay Later L.P., Featuring members of DOLLY MIXTURE and THE POGUES, and possibly CAPTAIN SENSIBLE of THE DAMNED.

1986 release on Talkcrest Records. Cat. no. LP 001

Extremely scarce, little-known album featuring Percy (from equally obscure Captain Sensible/Dolly Mixture associated outfit PERCY PAVILION, who released two 7" singles, both of which I am currently listing), Rachel Bor and Debsey Wykes from DOLLY MIXTURE, and JAMES FEARNLEY from THE POGUES (formerly of The Nips). Captain Sensible is pictured on the back of the sleeve, and is thanked in the credits 'for the use of his Wave synth'. It is not unlikely that he made a musical contribution to the record, partly as he produced both Percy Pavilion singles - and played on one of them - and equally because the music on the Do It Now! album is on similar lines to his solo material, with use of synthesisers, samples from spoken interviews, etc.

James Fearnley's contribution to this record is almost unknown. He is credited on the back of the cover as 'JIMMY (The Pogues)'. He was the boyfriend of Debsey Wykes (Dolly Mixture) at the time of recording. (See his book 'Here Comes Everybody: The Story of the Pogues' for mention of this). Captain Sensible was either dating or married to Rachel Bor (Dolly Mixture) at the time.

Record is in great shape. Touch of surface noise in quiet passages. Sleeve is in very good shape with some light creasing to edges, a touch of ringwear, however the original cellophane covering the card sleeve has started to come away around the edges: not too serious, but noticeable (see photos.). It would be hard to notice once in a protective plastic sleeve. There is a previous owner's name in biro inside the opening (again, see photo).

Item comes from a smoke-free, pet-free, home. 

I pack responsibly using a cardboard record mailer and extra card stiffeners, with vinyl outside of main sleeve. And always obtain proof of posting.
