Description

Suffice to say, if you're a jazz collector, you know what you're looking at here: the absolute holy grail of seminal bebop by (in my opinion) the greatest and most unsung pianist of the first generation bebop pianists...the mysterious Dodo Marmarosa.

Dodo Marmarasa - Piano Moods - Dial 208 pressed in 1950. 

Cover Front: Near Mint. Fully intact. No rubs, seam splits or anything. Perfect except for a small 1/4 inch abrasion at the top right.

Cover Back:  Good +. Fully in tact and readable. No tears or anything. Has obvious shelf wear and slight watermarking at the top right. 

Record:  Near Mint. Looks like it's never been played at all (it has been, though). Imprints in great condition. One small bubble creeping into a groove at one track and a slight rub mark on non-track grooves at the end (See pictures). Otherwise, beautiful.

Dodo did not record many songs under his own name, and they were all on 78s. This was the first 10' shellak to collect his recordings. All of which sound brilliant on record. Also includes two tracks by Erroll Garner, a Pittsburgh piano mentor to Dodo in his early years.

Side two: Cosmo Street, Ornithology (with Charlie Parker and band), Loose Nut (Erroll Garner) , Fantasy On Frankie and Johnny (Erroll Garner)
