Dominic Behan ‘Ireland Sings’ 1965 Pye LP
Breezy collection of Irish folk songs sung by the redoubtable Dominic Behan. There’s always a lot of humour creeping around the edges, too, which makes this a very likeable listen.
Dominic Behan, vocals ; with accompanying musicians ; Steve Benbow, musical director.
Program notes by Dominic on back sleeve. He describes ‘Not a Star from the Flag Shall Fade’ as ‘a really great song about the American civil war’
The back also boasts a great b/w pic of Dominic throwing a roguish rapscallion grin to camera , worth the price of admission alone.
Lovely old flipback sleeve.
Sleeve is very clean and bright, as though it’s been lovingly hidden from daylight and well preserved over the near 50 yrs of it’s life.

Vinyl ex , looks barely played and has the sheen of a new record.
Sleeve ex. No creases. A neat pen date is respectfully written in the corner ‘12-3-66’ (which I quite like). There’s a small brown stain to a small area in the top right corner of the back cover –see pic.

usually take 11 days (!!) before PayPal actually pay them.
I will combine items to reduce shipping costs where appropriate/available and will quote combined shipping: please ask stating items of interest.
I’ve had a bit of trouble with a return recently-I need to be clear that, if for any reason a buyer needs to return an item, the buyer pays the return postage, not me, otherwise I get stung for the original postage AND 2 or 3 times that if it’s returned from abroad. I try to be as clear as possible about the condition of an item, please take time to read the item description closely.
The photograph or scan is the actual item. I avoid the e-bay stock photo system, as this doesn't represent the actual item for auction
If you win an auction and are a non UK resident please don’t be anxious if I don’t invoice immediately- it usually takes me a while to figure out the postage-
Items are very carefully packed and posted/shipped by the cheapest method, unless requested otherwise.
If your item gets lost in the post all I can provide is proof of posting and you have to claim the money from Royal Mail.
Outside the UK the only method of payment is paypal. If you are outside the UK and unable to pay by pay pal, please do not bid.
Should you win, I expect to be contacted within 3 days of the auction end.
The seller cannot be held responsible for any items lost by the postal systems used, therefore proof of posting is obtained for every item sent.
I would recommend items exceeding £34 that the purchaser asks for insured delivery methods.
