Rare landmark free jazz lp, a seminal example of Cherry's attempts to mix jazz with world music influences and a historic meeting of American and European free improvisers. Featuring Cherry (cornet, gamelan, flutes), Albert Mangelsdorf (trombone), Sonny Sharrock (guitar), Eje Thelin (trombone), Bernt Rosengren (sax, oboe, clarinet, flute), Karl Berger (vibes, piano, gamelan), Joachim Kuhn (prepared piano), Arild Andersen (bass), and Jacques Thollot (drums and percussion). This is a special treat for fans of Sharrock as the electric guitarist is heavily featured and even has a track named after him. Overall, a highly recommended lp and possibly Cherry's greatest album.
