Don Rendell/Ian Carr Quintet, "Shades Of Blue", rare and extremely sought after British Jazz LP from 1965, this is the original 1st Britsih pressing, (Columbia 33SX 1733) the matrices are: XAX 2770/1 - 1U. A lovely record featuring: Don Rendell, Ian Carr, Colin Purbrook, Dave Green and Trevor Tomkin.

Visually both sides of the vinyl have several extremely feint scuffs and side two has a couple of very, very light marks, but nothing serious in any way.

Please note that this was play graded using a modern stereo cartridge, a mono cartridge or a cartridge with a more traditional profile will no doubt sound much better.

Play grading:

1. Has slight surface noise at the start then plays very well with just a hint of surface noise and one very slight crackle approximately 2:25 in.
2. Plays excellently.
3. There is a touch of surface noise at the beginning otherwise it plays excellently with just an occasional hint of surface noise.
4. Plays extremely well, just the slightest touch of surface noise and slight surface noise during the Bass solo.

5. There is a small pop at the very tart, otherwise it plays excellently with minimal surface noise.
6. Plays excellently.
7. There is slight surface noise during the very quiet introduction, there is a little crackle about 90 seconds in and although it eases slight surface noise is still noticeable due to the quiet nature of the music.
8. Plays excellently, minimal surface noise.

The sleeve has very slight wear to the corners, the usual laminate shrinkage along the opening, a slight crease just above "of blue", a slight ring mark on the rear and a tiny 20mm split starting in the top of the sleeve, (see photos).

Both labels are excellent, with MT moulded into the A side label.
