Description
One of the rarest of tenor sax genius Don Rendell's albums from his 1950s/1960s glory years, this is an excellent copy of Playtime on Decca, featuring Bert Courtley (trumpet), Eddie Harvey (trombone & piano), Ronnie Ross (alto & baritone sax), Pete Blennin (bass) and Andy White (drums).
The vinyl is bright and glossy and plays close to excellent, the deep Decca grooves covering any impact of the odd hairline. It's a great listen.
The fragile front and back laminated flipback sleeve has some edgewear, a 2cm seam split at the top edge opening corner and a little damage at the opening edge (see photo) including a couple of minor tears. It will come in a protective sleeve.
The lined inner sleeve is a later Sixties Decca version and is in excellent condition.
Labels are in excellent shape – this record certainly hasn't been overplayed.
Rare jazz collectable – very hard to find.
