Description
Most Don Rendell EPs from the 1950s golden era of modern jazz are hard to find, some barely ever turn up. This is one of them.
Recorded in 1955 with Ronnie Ross (baritone sax), Damian Robinson (piano), Sammy Stokes (bass), and Benny Goodman (drums), this 4-track Tempo EP finds the tenor maestro on top form.
The front laminated flipback sleeve is in tidy condition overall, though there is a little damage/tear at the opening edge, and a name in pen plus some writing in pencil on the back cover.
The vinyl has some marks and hairlines but plays through well with a little surface noise and the odd pop or tic, but nothing that significantly detracts from the music. Labels are also VG+ with the distinctive blue and white Tempo trio-centre in solid shape.
Not a perfect copy, but so few come up, grab it while you can - you might not find another! Competitive start price.
