Description
Donald Byrd ?– Byrd In Hand
PLEASE READ! FULL DISCLOSURE!
I sold this record for $290 on eBay which I described as NM. The buyer disagreed, said it was VG+ and returned it to me. I’m not going to dispute their interpretation of the quality, it is up to the listener.
I had scaled back the vinyl quality to EX Excellent. There are a few superficial marks which I did my best to take new pictures of. The sound quality is fantastic except for one item I noted after listening my 2nd time. The recording level of the piano distorts on a couple parts during piano solos. You can tell it’s the recording volume because it’s just the piano mic. I don’t know if it’s like this on other recordings of this album, like stereo or represses, but I did notice it this time around on my mono recording. (The 2nd buyer below believes this is groove damage).
NEW UPDATE!! THIS RECORD HAS BEEN RETURNED TWICE!!
I sold this record but for $172 the 2nd time. The most recent buyer returned to me and has advised there is are 2 skips on track 1 side 2. I listened to it after it was returned. I do hear one ‘skip’ but don’t hear a second. It doesn’t click but there is a soundless gap for less than a second. I did not even hear this when I played the record myself the first or 2nd time I listened to this album. I will scale this vinyl grading back to VG+.
I WILL NOT ACCEPT RETURNS ON THIS RECORD AGAIN. I believe I’m being VERY honest in my grading and as descriptive as possible. This is a FANTASTIC record!
?
Please note my initial review of the cover below. I’ll scale this back to VG- minus as well because all the sides are taped, and other cited issues.
I strive to be as honest and forthcoming on all auctions I’ve ever listed which is reflected on my feedback which is 100%.
?
