Awesome low budget housewife synth pop!
Don’t let the 1987 date fool you or turn you off like private press collectors who are scared by anything past 1982, this record sounds really early 80s! This artist was truly in a bubble of her own.
Oh boy! Here’s one I kind of hate to let go. It’s a total primitive low budget real people masterpiece done by a older lady who thought she could sing, write songs, had the money to go into the studio, hire a synth player and make a record. The title track is an outsider banger, if this lady made a cheesy video to go with the song it would go viral on Everything is Terrible’s social media. She is backed only by a few minimal synth multi tracks with a drum machine or maybe some light acoustic drums each song with a almost danceable mello beat. This whole record has a 80s cable access vibe and cheesy synth sound like you would hear on low budget video production soundtracks. It totally sounds like her synth collaborator was the guy who made the happy stock music for the 80s soundbanks. It’s a fun record all around and if you like 80s minimalistic real people records that are synth based out a bid on this one. The other songs besides live thief are themed in spirituality and positivity obviously influenced by the 80s New Age movement. Not a downer record at all, this artist believed in herself and her art, it’s so bad it’s amazing, but actually pretty listenable. The cover art looks like the record sounds, totally home spun primitive synth and flat vocals but she believes in herself and tried really hard on this record with the help of the studio staff.
