Description
Donovan Sunshine Superman UK Pye lp NPL 18181
Investment quality pressing of this classic lp.
Matrices NPL 18181 A1 and B1
The record is in near mint condition. It is flat and very clean and shiny: indeed it looks almost like new. There is a very light mark of about 2mm on one side. It is not feelable and difficult to see except under bright light and it makes no contribution to the sound which is superb throughout. Other than this the lp is flawless: idndeed it looks like new. There are a few spindle marks indicating that the lp has been played but not very often. There is some barely audible crackle in the run ins but absolutely no distortion to the sound at all. There are, of course, no nasty pops, and absolutely no skips or jumps.
The labels are in excellent condition. They are completely free from writing, tears, marks and stickers.
The cover is in excellent condition. The laminate is clean and shiny. The flips are intact - though there is a scratch to on flip just above the catalogue number (see photo). The back is also slightly wavy (see photo). Neither of these are serious problems and overall this is by far the best copy of this sleeve I have come across in 40 years of collecting.
This is a copy that I am sure would satisfy all but the most exacting of collectors. The lp looks and sounds fantastic and the cover is the best I have ever seen on this classic lp. Happy bidding.
Low start, no reserve and free UK P&P.
