Berlin based producer and rapper Donvtello is clearly influenced from the southern hiphop sound of the USA, especially on the diverse Phonk aesthetics from Memphis. On his "Sunset Playa Tape" he has dedicated himself to the sunny style of this subgenre. Memphis is often associated with a dark 808 sound, which has been established by the Three 6 Mafia all over the world. But from the building blocks of this music also a hood sound for the summer has emerged, which the Berlin Donvtello has now also orientated himself on. "Sunset Playa Tape" means instrumental playa music for the lowrider with chopped and screwed vocal cuts while cruising at walking speed towards the setting sun.
