Description
Artist: FIVE CROWNS
Titles: “You Came To Me” / “Ooo-Wee Baby)”
Label: RIVIERA # 45-990. Label is deep pink with black text.
Year: 1955
Condition: This record was well-enjoyed by its previous owner, and poorly cared-for. Condition is G+ / G- with most of the original gloss remaining. Fortunately the ballad side, “you came to me,” which in my view is a brilliant performance, is in slightly better condition than the reverse uptempo side, although neither is great. There are scuffs and several unsightly marks on both sides (more pronounced on the B-side) that produce some noticeable surface noise, but the fidelity is strong and the overall listening experience is surprisingly decent as you can hear in the accompanying sound clips.
There is a noticeable bubble on both sides, but did not cause any problems for me in the playback. Both sides played through without skipping or sticking on my “ion” turntable (light tracking force) as you can hear in the accompanying sound clips.
The labels display minor wear but are free of any writing or stickers.
The minimum bid recognizes that this will likely be a “filler” copy for most collectors, nonetheless this single rarely turns up in any condition and when decent has brought 4-digit prices in the past. This record comes with my standard guarantee of satisfaction and may be returned if the purchaser is not satisfied.
