Description
Three albums from the height of the band's career, all unplayed and all in beautiful condition.
1. Livin' on the Fault Line, 1977 - Pink Warner Bros promo sticker & regular label. Original illustrated cardboard dust jacket. The Doobies' superb line-up on this album included both original member Tom Johnston and Michael McDonald on vocals; Johnson, Jeff "Skunk" Baxter & original member Patrick Simmons on guitar; and rhythm section John Hartman & Keith Knudsen on drums and Tiran Porter on bass. (Weird fun fact: Liza Minnelli's ex #4, David Gest, is listed as band's publicist on the jacket. Gest went on to rep Michael Jackson whose enthusiasm for cosmetic surgery he shared.)
2. Minute by Minute, 1978 - Same stellar line-up (including Gest) as last album although Johnston sings on only one song. Back has gold stamped Warner Bros "Promotional copy not for sale." Regular WB label. Original illustrated cardboard dust jacket.
3. One Step Closer, 1979 - Line-up no longer includes Johnston or Baxter, but McDonald's vocals are as soulful as ever. Back has gold stamped Warner Bros "Promotional copy not for sale." Regular WB label. Original illustrated cardboard dust jacket. Very slight edge wear visible against outer jacket's dark background -- see photos #10 & #11 -- but overall in same great condition as others.
Prefer to sell as a set, but will consider offers for individual LPs.
Shipping is via Media Mail to U.S. buyers only. Signature required.
More about the collection: All albums in this and my other listings are from my personal collection dating back to a long-ago career in rock radio. Record sales are not my livelihood, so rather than attempt to grade them using a system in which I have no expertise, I prefer to let the photos and my honest descriptions tell the story. If they're described as unplayed, it's because I never played them and there've been no other owners.
