Antal Dorati/ London Symphony Orchestra
Stravinsky - The Firebird
(Mercury "Living Presence" AMS 16038 UK LP 1960)
This is a UK original Stereo LP pressing. Released as part of Mercury Records "Living Presence" range. It has a front laminated flipback sleeve. It comes with its original polythene-lined "Emitex" company inner sleeve.
The record is pressed on thick vinyl & has grooved "Mercury" labels. It has 1st press SR 90226A and SR 90226B matrix numbers. This is a genuine UK 1st Stereo pressing. A classic performance & recording. well recommended!
Sleeve: There is some light to mild ringwear staining on the rear sleeve. There is some mild to more moderate fading on the rear also. There is a tiny 0.5 cm seam split at the bottom corner tip, at the sleeve opening. VG condition
Vinyl: There is a light to mild edge warp. It is more noticeable when playing Side 1. It hardly notices when playing Side 2. It does not affect playback at all. Otherwise, there are some light to very mild sleeve rubs which can be seen under a strong light. The polythene inner sleeve has left some light marks in a few areas too. These hardly notice & do not affect playback at all. VG+ condition. The labels are in excellent+ condition & show minimal spindle wear only. The company inner sleeve is in VG condition. There is some light to mild ringwear, more moderate fading, & one side of the inner polythene has come unstuck. There are no seam splits.
I have fully play tested this LP. It plays Very Near Excellent to Excellent overall & Excellent+ in many places. Very well overall!
