Description

Hi!  You are bidding on Caledonia, an album of Scottish folk music by Dougie MacLean and Alan Roberts.  The album was released in 1978 by Plant Life Records, catalog number PLR 012.  The record is in excellent condition.  There is one very light pop on side one, track one.  Other than that, it sounds as though it just came out of the record bin at Canongate Music.  The album jacket retains its original gloss, although it has light shelf wear on the front.  There is also a very light crease in the upper right corner.
This was Dougie MacLean's first solo effort after his time with the Tannahill Weavers and Silly Wizard.  He had been an early member of the folk group Puddock's Well, along with Andy M Stewart and Martin Hadden.  This was also the first recording of MacLean's song Caledonia, which was used in a 1981 nationally broadcast television advertisement for Tennent's Lager, and opened MacLean's music to a nationwide audience.  It has all been uphill ever since.

Although Alan Roberts is listed first on the album, this is definitely MacLean's album.  Roberts plays second guitar.
