Description

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:  Joel Whitburn's "Top R&B / Hip-Hop Singles 1942-2004" Billboard research book reflects that neither side of this record reached the Billboard Top 100.  PLEASE make sure that you read my detailed "Vinyl Grading".....either at your end of the purchase; or at my end with eBay Feedback or those bloody DSR ratings!  I'm trying to be both very informative and honest with all my gradings.

    ARTIST(s):  Douglas Banks
  • TITLES:  "Ain't That Just Like A Woman"  bw  "Never Say Goodbye"
  • SONG CREDITS:   Gregg - Wecht  bw  Wecht - Gregg - Bernstein - Banks
  • COMPANY LABEL:  Guyden Records 2082 = PROMOTIONAL copy release
  • VISUAL GRADING OF VINYL:  NOW PLEASE READ THIS CAREFULLY!!!:  Overall I woul have graded the vinyl as VG+ because while both sides have most of their original factory gloss, both sides also have several light scuffs on their surface.  I did test-play both sides....they played all the way through without skipping, sticking and only with light background noise.....still, both sides sound great.
  • CONDITION OF LABELS:  As the scan reflects, there is a light storage ring started on both white labels; and a piece of a price sticker on the "A" side label.  NOTE:  Not that it really mathers, but the price sticker is NOT stuck to the trail-off wax.  What the store apparently did was glue price stickers in such a fashion as to have a part of it attached to the record sleeve (who cares) and part of it attached to the record label (NOW they have my attention).  I have been told that "with a hair dryer and some product I think was called 'Unglue'(???), one can remove the stickers without leaveing sticker residue.....I will leave that to you experts!
  • TYPE OF SLEEVE:  Comes in a red paper sleeve.

Those of you that have bought from me know that I am a VERY STRICT visual grader (BUT, I will happy to play grade if for you.....just ask BEFORE you bid), so don't let my vinyl and label descriptions worry you. As is evidenced by my slowly but sure growing eBay Approval Rating, you may bid with confidence. And of course, everything is 100% guaranteed!

    THE FINE PRINT:
  • Unless you have some other understood arrangement with me, payment must be received within 10 days of end of auction.
  • Upon request, I will consolidate your multiple winning auction items for up to two weeks.
  • PayPal Instant Payments will cause your item(s) to ship the very next Monday, Wednesday, Friday or Saturday.....my normal days to drive down to the post office.
  • Feedback:  I try to issue Positive feedback immediately upon payment receipt.  Please do the same for me upon receipt of your record; and I would definitely appreciate your 5-star ratings within the "Detailed Seller Ratings" section.....keeping in my mind that my requested shipment rate involves a $0.65-$0.75 mailer (shipment rate from my vender is constantly being impacted by the bloody cost of gasoline) + the USPS shipment rate you see posted on your package!  I make NO deliberate attempt to make a profit from the "Shipment Charge" calculation!
  • OTHER QUESTIONS?:  I am NOW RETIRED, so feel free to email me (using the eBay provided link within "Ask Seller A Question"), and I will get back to you very very quickly!

Here is another 45rpm item that I previously purchased while in pursuit of items for my own Billboard Top 100 hobby. Unless otherwise noted (by "Reissue" or "2nd Pressing"), they should all be original pressings!  All of them should be Billboard Top 100 hits from the 50's and/or 60's!  (But from time-to-time I may throw in a few other selections that I uncover, and think/hope someone might be seeking.   ADDITIONAL 45RPM AUCTIONS:  Still looking for other 45rpms?  I still have several thousand records (that I privately track on EXCEL data bases) for the following two categories of music:  (1) 70's/80's/90's ORIGINAL 45rpm records and/or picture sleeves that are visually in VG++ or better condition (some of the picture sleeves may be 1-2 grades lower IF they are being offered with a higher grade record); and (2) 50's/60's REISSUE 45rpm records that are visually in near mint or mint condition....almost all of them are UNPLAYED.  So keep checking this site and/or my JimsVinyAndSupplies Bay store (which is where my reissues go directly; and most of the unsold 50's/60's/70's material).
