Description
Seraphim Records catalog # SIC 6060, stereo, copyright 1972.
A very clean copy of experimental electronic composer Douglas Leedy's 3 LP box set, "Entropical Paradise". On this record Leedy sought to create sonic environments using Moog Sythesizers and the Buchla Modular Electronic Music System, which was also a form of synthesizer. In the liner notes Leedy describes his work as follows,
" Entropica Paradise is different in concept, execution and purpose from most recordings of music. In fact, it isn't intended as music at all, but as sound, as acoustical envionmental 'programming' which should be heard but not necessarily listened to. (You may listen to it , however, as music, if you like.)"
Each side of this 3 LP set contains one long work, meant to create a sonic environment.
Side One: Entropical Paradise I
Side Two: Entropical Paradise II
Side Three: White Landscape
Side Four: The Harmonarium
Side Five: Star Engine
Side Six: Doria
Vinyl is in excellent condition. Play surfaces are very clean and free of imperfections. A few light marks that don't affect play cause a grade of NM-. Box is VG+, with no writing. Corners are intact, but there is some ringwear, and a 3" split in the top center of the back half of the package. All in all, this is an excellent package.
