Arriving on the heels of the socially conscious Babylon, Dr. John's 1970 album Remedies marked his 3rd studio release under his eccentric, voodoo-inspired "Night Tripper"persona, and his first not to be produced by Harold Bapttiste--he instead turned to famed rock producer Tom Dowd. Featuring a psychedelic and progressive take on Dr. John's signature style of swampy, hazy New Orleans boogie-woogie rock, undoubtedly inspired by his then recent stint in apsych ward.
