Description
Dragonfly S/T LP MS1202 stereo Megaphone records.
Disc: Visual grade: G, Covered in sleeve marks and surface wear. When I got this, I thought to myself, "Bummer, this disc looks rough," but then I noticed it had no deep marks, so I bought it.
Play grade: VG-, after I cleaned it on a Nitty Gritty, I dropped the needle on it and was amazed at how good it sounded. There is definitely noise at the beginning and between tracks, and yes, in the quieter parts, which are basically the short intros, but because this album is loud and the guitars are ripping enough to cover the surface wear once the songs start, it is a solid player. Where you hear the noise the most is on the second song of side two that has a long, maybe 90-second, trippy intro, there is lots of noise there, but not so much it ruins anything. No skips. This is a very listenable copy and enjoyable, tested on a Thorens TD150 with brand new Sumiko Pearl needle.
Cover: VG-, see pics, no seam split, but there is definitely lots of edgewear, colors are still vibrant, ringwear noticeable, gatefold surprisingly strong but the cover definitely feels "soft" like a cover that has been handled lots in its life. If you live with old records, you know what I mean.
This is a mega rare holy grail fuzz album, featured in one of Hans Pokora's books, that gives Bubble Puppy a run for their money. This isn't the cleanest copy, far from it, but it also still has lots of life left in it.
