Description

For sale in very good + to excellent condition for vinyl, good to very good on cover, autographed 1954 mono copy of T477, Duke Ellington – the Duke plays Ellington, LP on Capitol records. The vinyl has been tested on both sides, on a Pro – ject turntable with Sumiko, Moonbeam stylus, very little to none surface noise , very little to none pops, zero scratches, Vinyl still glossy for the most part with a little bit of age Stain here in there, as pictured as best as one can do. Record jacket has all corners, tight and intact. No bend or damage anywhere , Spine is healthy and print information, All intact. Small light brown stain area as pictured in upper left corner on back cover and back cover shows age discoloration. And here’s the story on the autograph: In the 50s and 60s, WSB radio Atlanta was an easy listening station, and there was a nighttime DJ named Jerry Vanderventer Who had a specialty show called “night beat“. The album says “to my friend, Jerry Vanderventer, good luck, Duke, Ellington” On his show, he would play more hip songs, jazz, Broadway, some new Pop. Jerry passed away in 2003 and our store was contacted about buying his personal record collection and we did. Several of the albums have been autographed and made out to Jerry in hopes of getting AirPlay. This includes autographs by duke Ellington, Bob Dylan, Louis Smith, and others. But the most impressive thing besides being autographed by Duke Ellington is that this record is absolutely smoking and shows duke Ellington in a trio setting minus all the syrup sweetness of his big band. He was hot! No, we do not have a certificate of authenticity and don’t care to, and after reading all the disrespectful reviews online and been having told that my Ramones autographs were probably forgeries Buy one of the top autograph certifiers when I actually was backstage with them And actually have the photograph and backstage pass to prove it, I can’t be bothered. I know this is authentic and can supply plenty of first person autographed items The back up my statement. Pull up any image of duke Ellington, autograph on google, and you can tell this is the real deal , Not going to waste $75 for some clown to tell me what I already know, that it is authentic.
