Description
"To The Little Woman" - a very rare recording sung by John Charles Thomas with Bob Armbruster at the Piano. Its jacket is stamped with the logo of the famous New York literary and artistic Dutch Treat Club. Although the club has published many yearbooks and other written material over the years, I am unable to find any information about this or any other recording created by the club. It may have been given as a favor at one of their annual dinners. John Charles Thomas was a very popular baritone who sang Broadway, opera and popular American music during the 1920s-1940s. He was a member of the Metropolitan Opera and also appeared frequently on many radio programs. I do not have a turntable that can play this record, but it appears to be in very good shape. The label and the inner margin of the one-sided record are stamped 06461. (The label also instructs "Start Needle At Outside"!) The outer edge (before the music) has some minor markings that may or may not be original, and there is one small imperfection near the outer edge that also appears to be original and not caused by any damage. The cover is stiff card stock that has yellowed with age, and it has a thin ribbon passed through a punched hole in one corner. The song name is stamped on the reverse side of the cover.
