E. Berliner's Gramophone Records, 1898 and 1904.
Two rare 7" gramophone recordings:
1) "The Star Spangled Banner", played by Sousa's Band. The disc is stamped with the location and date "NEW YORK, SEP 2 1898". In Good+ condition. (see photo)
2) "Songs of Scotland", played by Koch's Trombone Quartet. The disc is inscribed with the date "2/21/04" (1904), and the designation "0995 H". In Good condition, with 2-3 small visible scratches. (see photo)
fyi: Emile Berliner (1850-1929) was the German-American inventor of the lateral-cut flat disc played on the old-style phonograph (record player) called the Gramophone. These discs were revolutionary in their time for their ability to accurately record sound, voice and music, and for their affordability to the general public.
