Description
VIOLET ELECTRICAL POLYDOR (69864-6). EARLY SIX-SIDED VERSION CONDUCTED BY RICHARD STRAUSS WTIH BERLIN STATE OPERA ORCHESTRA (1926). NO ORIGINAL ALBUM.
This was the first of two versions Strauss recorded of this work in 1926. This version was not issued outside Germany (according to Thomas Clear in his famous Orchestral Anthology) and was quickly replaced by the 7 sided version later. This version has a much quicker tempo and more vital reading of the score.
QUITE RARE SET AND PERFORMANCE.
CONDITION: Generally '2'- first record has slight 'wavyness' but tracks fine on my machine.
This is one of a selection of items being sold from my personal collection.
