Original United States pressing of this hard to find album, released in 1973. The band features a then 22 year old Gwen Guthrie on vocals, and they’re strong and Soulful. The record begins with I FOUND YOU, a 7 minute Soul stormer. KEEP ON TRYING starts out funky then adds a cool guitar solo creating a distorted Rock layer. This is a solid record throughout which remains elusive and obscure.
COVER: The only thing keeping this jacket from grading VG+ is a thin 1 inch top center seam split on the back part of the cover. There is no other seam splitting. The gatefold cover is thick with a factory laminate (similar to an old Impulse Label jacket) and the laminate is slightly peeling away in the lower part of the left edge. There are also a few spots where it looks like the adhesive used to attach the laminate to the cover has caused circular marks. There is light surface wear. The jacket is very sturdy and inside the gatefold looks great. There are no drill marks, no saw marks, and no other cut out markings of any kind.
VINYL: We carefully cleaned this LP on a VPI Machine. The vinyl shows a few light scratches and surface marks, the majority of which are on the first song (“I Found You”). We did not notice any of these which can be felt on the grooves. This LP grades VG+.
